OBVIOUSLY we don't own this picture, or anything Harry Potter related, for that matter.
ERMEHGERD! HERRY PERTTER!!!!!!!!!!
Rejoice, Potter fans! Today, JK Rowling announced that the latest installment in the life saga of the Boy Who Lived is going to be a book as well as a play!
Last fall, Rowling announced a production of a two-part play called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The story is to take place 19 years after the last installment of the mega-hit series of novels, and deals with Harry’s life as an employee at the Ministry of Magic and his youngest son Albus’s life at Hogwarts.
(Some of you may recall a minor kerfuffle when award-winning actress Noma Dumezweni was cast as Hermione, wherein some people flipped out because she’s Black. Rowling responded to the controversy by reminding us that the cannon descriptions of Hermione only say she has brown eyes, frizzy hair, and is very clever. She added that she loved the casting of a Black Hermione and to please cool your jets, haters. OK, not the jets part. But the rest, yes.)
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is set to debut on the London stage on July 31st (Mr. Potter's birthday!). On that same day, a “rehearsal edition” of the script will be available in print and hardcover. The book may vary from the stage production a bit because of script changes through the rehearsal process. A definitive collectors edition will be announced later.
